"I have had a back problem for over 6 years now that was getting progressively worse and in January I had reached the point where I was prescribed morphine patches for the pain. I was referred to a 6 week core stability exercise class through the NHS and when I was discharged was advised to do pilates. I joined Karen's class in March. I have been made really welcome and feel very comfortable in the class which is a big thing for me. But I have also improved so much that I am now off ALL painkillers! The exercises are gentle but effective and I feel so much stronger - and I've lost over 2 stone in weight in 3 months which is an added bonus! I absolutely recommend joining these classes! "

"Since november 2009 I have had two spinal operations and my surgeon suggested that I try Pilate's to help straighten my posture and build up my core strength again.  Karen's class at Ridgeway Arms is fantastic. She is so helpful and really understands everyones needs and requirements. I have found that by doing the exercises at home that my posture is starting to get better. Thanks Karen"

"I have been attending Karen's classes since joining  a six weeks beginners course in October  2009 and find them very enjoyable. Karen is very pleasant, helpful & patient and very knowledgable about Pilates and how it helps posture etc. I always feel good after doing a class and hopefully in time it will help with my back problem"

Anne, 2009

have been attending classes run by Karen for three years now and have found that I now have more flexibility in my neck and shoulders ( beneficial especially when driving), my posture has improved and I find it easier to relax in stressful situations. After recent abdominal surgery which reqired 21 stitches, I was up and about and hardly needed any pain relief within 48 hours and made a swift recovery - to the doctor's amazement!!! I am convinced that this was due to Pilates and Karen's help. I have had several operations in the past from which recovery has been much slower and more painful.
Pilates seems a very gentle exercise but if you persevere over the months you come to realise that it not only helps to alleviate many minor discomforts (ie.indigestion due to poor posture) but it also benefits your lifestyle whatever age you are.
